Join Us – Volunteer Work Day Saturday, September 17, 2016

Would you like to visit Juniper Flats? Come explore Juniper Flats with experienced locals while helping with environmental restoration. BLM is offering about 2 Volunteer Days a month in the Juniper Flats Area.
We meet at 9am on Saturday, Sept 17,  at the intersection of Coxey Truck Trail and Bowen Ranch Rd.

Directions include travel on dirt roads.  From the intersection of Bear Valley Rd and Central Rd in Apple Valley, CA travel south on Central Rd. Turn east on Roundup Way and travel to Bowen Ranch Rd.   Follow Bowen Ranch Rd south to intersection of Bowen Ranch Rd and Coxey Truck Trail.

Volunteer Activities

We will be installing t-post fencing at a problem site off of Powerline Rd approximately 0.5 miles north of Arrastre Falls. We also could do some raking and mulching on shortcuts off of Powerline Rd between Arrastre Falls and Milpas Rd.

What to Bring

Please bring:

  • Plenty of water
  • Boots,
  • Long sleeves,
  • Long pants,
  • Hat
  • Work gloves
  • Sun Screen
  • Snacks
